Bursary and Scholarship Schemes 2026-27

As a charitable organisation, the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) is committed to promoting access to training in group analysis and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.


Our bursary programmes—many of which are established in memory of esteemed members provide financial assistance each year to prospective and current students and trainees. In addition, the IGA offers scholarship funds specifically for students enrolled in the London Foundation and Diploma courses who work in BAME communities and other disadvantaged settings. Successful applicants may receive a reduction or full waiver of course fees.

Vivienne Cohen Bursary Fund 2023 -2028

Support is available through three annual bursaries for applicants to the London IGA Qualifying Course. Each bursary recipient may receive up to £2,000 per year for the first and second years of training, and £1,000 in the third year.

To apply for a bursary or scholarship, please submit the completed application form by email to the Training and Centre Manager at trainingmanager@groupanalysis-uk.co.uk before the stated closing date.


All applications are reviewed by the IGA Finance Committee, whose recommendations are then submitted to the Board of Trustees for final approval. Applicants will be informed of the outcome on the decision date specified.


Please note that bursaries cannot be applied to Early Bird fees for Foundation Courses and are applicable only to full course fees. Applicants are advised to carefully review the terms and conditions outlined in the application forms.
