Over 50 Years of Pioneering Group Analysis

Empowering Professionals Through Group-Analytic Training

The Institute of Group Analysis provides comprehensive, tiered training in Group Analytic theory and practice—designed for anyone seeking to develop their skills in group work, whether in clinical, organisational, or educational contexts.

  • Foundation Course – A robust standalone introduction to group analytic theory. Ideal for newcomers, it also serves as the gateway to advanced diploma-level training.

  • Diploma in Groupwork Practice – A more in‑depth, one-year programme that builds on the Foundation course. It deepens theoretical understanding and practical application across social, healthcare, and educational settings. Completion can lead to IGA Group Work Practitioner status and is recognised as equivalent to a postgraduate Certificate.

  • Qualifying Courses & Specialised Settings – For further advancement toward full Group Analyst qualification, including opportunities like reflective supervision and advanced block-format courses.

  • Bespoke Training – Tailored learning programs created to meet the unique needs of organisations, charities, teams, and businesses.

Support and Accessibility:

  • The IGA offers bursary schemes and funding support to make training more accessible to self-funding applicants.
