Turvey Foundation Course 26/27 - Hybrid

The workshops provide an introduction to the psychodynamic theory underlying Group Analysis. On Saturday mornings a guest speaker gives a keynote lecture.

Other seminars and workshops explore further the practicalities of working with groups in various settings (NHS, Social Services, Private Practice, and Counselling etc.) Students will be invited to participate actively by presenting academic papers during the course.

Venue: Centre for Group Therapy, Abbey Mews (off Jack’s Lane), Turvey, Bedfordshire, MK43 8DH

Weekend beginning: 16th October;

4th December 2026;

19th February 2027;

16th April 2027;

18th June 2027;


The weekend timings

Fridays 5pm to 6.30pm then 7pm to 8.30pm – online via zoom

Saturdays 9am to 6pm – in person

Sundays 9.30am to 3.30pm – in person

Monday 6pm to 7.30pm online via zoom (19th Oct, 7th Dec, Feb,19th April, 14th June))


Course Fee: Fee: £1450

Early bird fee of £1350 available until April 2026

Once you have been offered a place on the course, to gain access to the IGA Student Area, you will need to complete an online application form on the IGA website. To start this process, go to: The Institute of Group Analysis > Training Course Registration and fill out the form the form for this course. The IGA Training Co-ordinator will then be in touch with a unique Student ID and information on how to register for the Student Area.
