Bursary and Scholarship Schemes 2024-25

As a charitable organization, the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) is dedicated to promoting and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds who wish to pursue training in group analysis.

Our bursary programs, often established in memory of esteemed members, provide financial assistance to prospective and current students and trainees each year. Additionally, we offer scholarship funds specifically tailored for students of the London Foundation and Diploma courses working in a BAME environment. Successful candidates may benefit from reduced or waived fees for these courses.

IGA Foundation Course Scholarships

Upon successful application there will be no fee. Four scholarships available, specifically designed for students working in BAME environments.



IGA Diploma Course Bursary

Upon successful application there will be no fee. Two scholarships are available, specifically designed for students working in BAME environments.



Dennis Brown Fund

1 bursary of £500* specifically for students with an interest in intercultural group analysis



Dennis Brown Fund

[1 dissertation prize of £500]

A winner will be selected from Dissertations submitted from QC students

Vivienne Cohen Bursary Fund 2023 -2028

​Support in the form of three annual bursaries for London IGA Qualifying Course Applicants. The recipient of each bursary will be awarded up to £2000.00/annum



To apply for bursaries and Scholarship funds, kindly submit the completed application forms to the Senior Training Co-ordinator via email at before the specified closing date.

Subsequently, the IGA's Finance Committee will review the applications, and their recommendations will be presented to the Board of Trustees for consideration. Applicants will be notified of the outcome on the specified decision date mentioned above.

It's important to be aware that the bursaries cannot be utilized for the Early Bird Fees associated with Foundation Courses; they will be applicable only to full fees.
