Institute of Group Analysis, 1 Daleham Gardens, NW3 5BY

Where is composition, and where are evocative objects, in group analysis?

Facilitated by Martin Weegman, Group Analyst, Psychologist & James West, Art Psychotherapist

Part One

One hour and a half

This experiential/experimental event invites delegates to bring an object of any sort about an important memory of your choice - e.g. physical object, memorabilia, photo, artwork, poem, or a combination of more than one, for you to place on the floor of the large room (maximum space for each person approximately one and half feet circle; or if light, e.g. a photo, it can be attached on the wall).

People can arrive at any time during part one to arrange their object(s), enjoy informal time, conversations, refreshments etc. The facilitators will create ample physical space for the activity (with seats to the sides) and will safeguard the objects throughout.

Part Two

One hour and a half

As the objects remain in place, in the centre of the room, we proceed to large group dialogue, for participants to share experiences of taking part and discuss where the ‘memory lab’ takes you.

At the end, all objects to be collected by participants and taken home.

Fees:

IGA Students: £30

IGA Members: £30

Non-Members: £30
