Saturday 27th September 2014 - 9:30am – 4:45pm
The Institute of Group Analysis
1 Daleham Gardens
London NW3 5BY
Lawrence J. Ladden
This workshop will provide an introduction to mindfulness practices and the opportunity to explore the potential cross-pollination between mindfulness and group analysis disciplines. We will consider how awareness of the group is a mindfulness practice by observing how group phenomena are arising moment to moment within a larger space of awareness. We will explore, in particular, mindfulness of body sensation and its relationship to empathy and resonance.
The day’s workshop will include guided practice of both individual and group (Contemplative Group Dynamics) expressions of mindfulness. The workshop will be primarily experiential. There will be reflection periods to help integrate the practice experience. Some theory will be offered to bridge the classical Buddhist philosophical psychology of the collective and individual patterns with contemporary group analytic theoretical perspectives, for example with the social unconscious.
This event is suitable for anyone interested in the relationship between mindfulness and groups. If you have any questions you may contact Jale Cilasun at email@example.com.
