Can we all be Heroes? The uncertain fate of Cultural and Political Icons, and other Celebrities in interesting times.

Saturday 7th December

Speakers: Candida Yates, Martin Weegman, Andy Thomas

This is a one day workshop offering an opportunity to engage in a group analytic exploration of popular culture, finding and sharing understandings of the everyday and common place in presentations covering aspects of gender politics, music, celebrity culture and other oft overlooked nuances of our psycho-social worlds. It is open to trained, trainees and trainers of group analysis and we welcome visitors from other modalities interested in a group analytic perspective.

Her books include: Political Leadership and the Psycho-Cultural Imagination (forthcoming), The Play of Political Culture, Emotion and Identity (2015); Media and the Inner World: Psycho-Cultural Approaches to Emotion, Media and Popular Culture (2014).
